Instagram

Journal Entry: Tue Oct 1, 2013, 12:05 PM

Hey!

Just a friendly post letting you all know that I've set up an Instagram! I've been working on lots of side projects, including some Naruto cosplay stuff, so if your curiosity has been mildly aroused please hit me up. Also, leave your Instagram name in the comments and I'll hit you back :D

:star:My Instagram name is: hannah_alexander24 :star:

Also, I had a bit of a run in with one of these strange role playing accounts on Instagram, or whatever the heck she called it. Some kind of shrine to Princess Bubblegum. Anyway, it had a ton of fanart done by a variety of artists, none of them credited. She wasn't claiming them to be her own, but I still don't massively agree with this shrine concept. Fanart isn't pubic domain and I think it's polite to credit. I get pretty mad when I see my artwork posted uncredited. She said she didn't know the artists, just pulled them off google images, but I still think there should have been a disclaimer or something. Any thoughts?

Mucho love

I think everyone should do whatever they can to find the artist to give them credit. If they can't find them, some kind of disclaimer like "artist unknown" should be a common courtesy.

There's so many times on instagram that I thought I'd found a cool artist, but it was just someone posting one of their pictures :( So disappointing! Especially when I want to look up the artist to see more of their work.

Agreed. Even a link to where that person found the image would be helpful in finding the artist who created the work.

I totally agree! Maybe adding also: "anyone who knows this artist let me know", or something

Agreed. It's better to state that something isn't yours and ask for help finding the source than it is to just leave it and hope everyone assumes you aren't the artist.
