To The Fairest

This is Eris, the Greek Goddess of Strife and Discord.

Brief background: Eris wasn't liked amongst the gods, so when Peleus and Thetis were married she was the only one who wasn't invited. She turned up anyway, but when she was refused entry she threw her wedding present through the doors, the Apple of Discord, which was addressed to 'the fairest'. Athena, Hera and Aphrodite argued among themselves who should lay claim to the apple, and went to Earth to ask Paris, prince of Troy, to choose. The goddesses bribed him, but Paris awarded the apple to Aphrodite, who gave him the most beautiful woman in the world, Helen, in return. This instigated the Trojan war.

My version of Eris was inspired by the design in 'The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy'
